Incident map

News cases plus public reports: where the risk is.

What is the difference between the two kinds of points?
Coloured points are news cases: each is verified and linked to its source; click for details. Gray points are public reports: first-hand reports from members of the public, unverified, for reference only.

Witnessed or experienced a hidden-camera incident? Tell us.

After review it appears as a gray point marked "unverified". Reporting requires a Google account; up to three reports per person per day are counted.
If you are at the scene, do not move or damage the device. Call 110 (police) immediately.

Report an incident
Every news case links to its source; public reports are unverified and for reference only.

Full disclosure principles
  1. News cases (coloured points) include only incidents with public news coverage that we have verified. Each links to the original report and reflects the facts as reported at the time; descriptions are neutral rewrites of the news content with no added commentary.
  2. Penalty records cite only public decisions by government authorities, with the source and date of retrieval. They are neutral statements of fact and say nothing about the venue's current operation.
  3. Unverified venues, hotels and locations are never named. Where a report does not name the venue, the map shows only the district or commercial area, with no inference.
  4. Public reports (gray points) are first-hand accounts volunteered by members of the public. They are not verified by this site, do not represent established fact and do not represent this site's position. We perform only a formal review (filtering spam and inappropriate content) and cannot and do not vouch for their accuracy. Locations follow the reporter's description and may differ from the actual spot; reports never show a venue or operator name, and no single report should be read as an accusation against any specific place.
  5. A marked incident does not describe a venue's current safety. The operator may have fixed the problem long ago, and the offender may have had nothing to do with the operator. In most incidents the operator is a victim too. This map exists for risk awareness and public discussion, not as an accusation against any person or business.
  6. Corrections and takedowns (notice-and-takedown): if you are the subject of a record or the operator concerned and believe it is wrong, email hershield.tw@gmail.com. We take the record down first, then verify, and then restore, correct or permanently remove it.

We make reasonable efforts to use credible sources but do not guarantee that all content is current or complete. Anyone citing this map should consult the original news source. If you find an actual hidden camera, do not move or damage it; call 110 and let the police handle it.

Once you can see the risk, the next step is action.
